So it’s official now, finale will be between Ishmit and Harshit and it will be aired on 24th November. As Shaan have been constantly saying ‘Shakshat Saraswati Ma’, Lata Mangeshkarji will be the judge. The way it will work is: Lataji’s marks will have 50% weightage and public voting will have 50% weightage.
It’s anyone’s guess who is a better singer between Ishmit and Harshit. But obviously, this contest is not between two singers, it’s basically between Punjab and Uttar Pradesh [No offense meant to anyone.]. So according to me, Ishmit will be the winner.
But wait, I have a feeling that the result is already fixed for this show and somehow, Harshit will win the award.

Actually i don’t want to comment anything on this as i think that there’s some rude response being given to ishmeet by some peoples and two of the judges of V.O.I, i won’t mention their names but i feel that they should not behave like this even at this stage b’coz i feel they should shortlist only those 12 contestants in voting lists which they feel are almost equal or can be compared or else they should not play with someone’s feeling like this. Or else the director or channel should stop this voting drama but they can’t b’coz its their real income.
Actually the mistake was done at the time of selecting bemisaal 12 when Ishmit was selected and a singer like Arvind was dropped because of wrong judgement and some stupid criticism by judges (copying kishore kumar which they conveniently contradicted in case of Harshit later).
Ishmit is a good singer in terms of voice quality undoubtedly, but at this level of competition, you are expected to sing in sur. offlate he has been singing fine but earlier in many of the initial episodes (after bemisaal 12) he was offkey and he is being criticised because he got votes when he was not singing good.
According to me, all, including Harshit, Abhas, Toshi, Irfan, Priyani, Sumitra, Arshpreet, Abhilasha, Arvind (who was dropped from bemisaal 12) were deserving candidate for the title. Prantik and Prantika, I have not mentioned because i didn’t hear them enough.
And having said so Harshit and Abhas, I feel are of the caliber of Kishore Kumar and Mohd. Rafi and are at a level higher than others (excluding females). It is difficult to say who is no 1 amongst them.
Also some people including the author of the site have been criticising Harshit…I don’t know why.
Harshit is the playback singer of tomorrow and there is no doubt over it.
Winner will be harshit…simpy b’coz 50% weightage to lataji…and 50% to voting… in which they started saying lately tht he gets most votes in neutral zone.. So ishmeet gettin 2nd highest in voting… hence, more chances for harshit only…
Wel, this show has been fixed throughout..and they continue to manipulate contestants & those who vote for them…

With due respect to your opinion and emotions (if attached to the show), I have a question for all those who believe that this show is rigged/it is about anything but music or something to the lines.
Why do you still watch it or waste your money by sending sms?
I fully agree with you if you say that the show is least bothered about crowning the real talent and aimed at only making huge bucks. Nevertheless, it has done a great job of bringing some of the rare talents of our nation to people’s notice which otherwise may or may not have been possible so easily. The show digressed from its track (its difficult to point just one single incident when it happened) but at the same time when you feel it is on a no-come-back path, you can stop watching it. In my humble opinion thats the only way of making Mr Gajendra Singh realise his mistakes.
In retrospect, this show could also be an ideal plot for a typical ‘Madhur Bhandarkar’ film!

Totally agree with AS. I for one swear that I have stopped watching the show since Toshi was eliminated. The only reason I frequent this blog (maybe a bit too much) is with the hope that someone will have some news about Toshi.

My favourite contestant, Abhaas, is now out. He has nothing to be ashamed about, his versatility is well established. With Abhaas gone, there was no ’stage presence’ for the entire show. Good luck Abhaas, you still have a bright future ahead of you.

Thanks for the link to Abhaas’s songs! I was devastated when he was voted out yesterday. He, as expected, left the stage with utmost grace with an outstanding parting song. Which movie is that song from? Never heard it before!
The guy was simply bowled over when the Chevrolet Spark was presented to him. Behaved like a little kid! At least he did not go empty-handed for all his efforts in the past six months!
I wish I knew how to access him! I would like to send a personal congratulatory note.
As the astrologer who came on stage rightly said, he has very, very bright future. He must be mighty glad to get out of the show but SVOI has lost him forever.
Harold - indeed while our favourite contestant Aabhas has “moved on” (nobody can really eliminated him!), we must continue to be respectful of the remainining two. No hard feeling for anyone, but I like Ishmeet’s voice quality and singing style better than Harshit. It has been like this for a long while now. I know Harshit is talented too, but I will be happier if Ishmeet wins as I feel he is more deserving of “these two”. Sure he does not have a classical background, but Harshit doesn’t either. It will be an interesting Finale where I think despite all the hype about Ishmeet, Harshit may finally win in the end. Good luck to both!

One thing is quite noticeable - and has been for some time now. Abhaas’ fans have CLASS. We do love the guy, but we all conduct ourselves appropriately (most of the times). This is a reflection of the quality of person Abhaas is. Remember the old saying - Like begets like. Its true.
We will be hearing a lot more of our hero in the fuure.
The competition was really between Harshit and Abhaas only - especially towards the end. After Harshit sang “Mitwa” it became clear that Abhaas was the ‘uncrowned’ champion of this competition. No voting is required to determine this.
But I am happy that Abhaas has finally stepped off the SVOI stage and into our world.
I am sure his beautiful voice will find its way to us.

I totally believe the article (see link by Kirank.) It is a fact that the server when we tried to vote for Toshi was down. At first I thought it was just something I was facing. But all my friends here who are Toshi fans (and trust me- we are a huge number) were facing the same problem. Then my friends and relatives back in India and the Gulf confirmed that they were unable to vote because of the same problem.
What a joke! The talented contestants like Toshi, Priyani, Irfan and Abhaas were used as pawns by these greedy money making creeps and we stupid fans are fighting with each other and defaming each others favourites, when they have already chosen the guy they want to crown as VOI (whether he deserves it or not is a matter of huge discussion). My personal opinion, he definately doesn’t.
Well, going ahead with the program, we have see whatever is left of it (or else, just stop watching it!).
Yesterday, in all the drama, I liked the comment from Hridaynath Mangeshkar Ji, who very quietly advised the judges to do a more constructive evaluation of the singers rather than fighting amongst themselves. It was a very sensible point, as this objectivity was getting lost in promoting self-interests!!!
Look at Nach baliye and the judges are not scared to mention poor performances to the participants or even say, “It was a good performance, but fell short of our high expectations”. In Dancing with the Stars, the judges are so forthright in their critical evaluation….
If judges had been good in evaluating the Bemisal Barah, then we would have seen the real VOI.
I am, personally, seeing the show right to the end without any personal preferences for Toshi or Harshit or anyone else…

Well I think Harshit should be the VOI. I couldn’t believe when ishmeet and harshit both got 18 pts. harshit sang more difficut songs and is much better then Ishmeet. Ishmeet is an idiot if he doesn’t know that hes there not because of his singing but only because of Punjab votes. This is so evident that he is at the bottom from neutral zones but goes top after state votes are added. Punjab is a much richer state then UP and have access to voting options etc more then UP. So really Ishmeet should get too excited if he wins coz its the votes not singing.
I am confident Harshit will win! Even if Punjab pours in more votes than UP, Lata’s 50% will neutralize that by a great margin! Harshit is surely the better singer!
Too late … but at last the guest judges made their presence felt, prior to today only Shankar-Eshan-Loy made their time worth while, the rest of them were a big ‘waste’

I think most of the guys or girls on this site are full of shit. Indian public is no fool. Its not 20′th century any more. People of india is looking some different voice. Mr. ISHMIT HAS IT.PERIOD.I live in Canada and watching this show right from the bigning. This guy has been insulted, humilated. Look at the patience he has. Good sanskar has been given by his family and friends.Friends plays big role as well.
I feel sorry for these two judges Lalit and Adesh.They have to learn lot from the public.These guys have no sportsmanship at all.Please dump them.Yesterday, thev have insulted the music.They have shown that they know every thing and the rest GARBAGE.

After reading the comments on this forum, I fully agree with you when you say that Abhaas’s fans do have CLASS! Yes, Like begets Like!
I am sure that all 12 participants will be performing on the final day - 24th November. I fervently wish that Abhaas will sing Satyam Shivam Sundaram in front of Lataji! As someone had siad in these columns a few days ago, she will melt like hot wax. She will immediately realize what she has missed if Abhaas had been the FINALIST!
I don’t know why, but I also wish Abhaas could be allowed to sing the full version of “Satyam Shivam Sundaram” in front of Lata Mangeshkar.
And I personally wish to hear Abhaas sing the “Shree Ganeshay Dheemahi” song from the movie “Viruddh” (starring Amitabh Bachchan). This song was originally sung by Shankar Mahadevan.
But it’s wishful thinking really…

Harshit’s ” Ek ajnabi” is the best performance in VOI so far. Those who are rubbishing “Mitwa” and ” Ek ajnabi” have closed minds and do not have the ability to appreciate other’s good performance other than their own favourite.
It is good news to hear that AR Rahman had asked Harshit to sing “Ek Ajnabi”. Perhaps he has liked him and wanted him to sing once more before signing.

Since Toshi and Irfan are out, there is no fun in viewing VOI anymore but still as they say the show must go on, so I feel among Ishmit & Harshit, Harshit should be the winner as he has the cinematic voice which will be utilized in the film industry.

The most suitable playback voice in SVOI was that of Prantik Sur, and he was eliminated long back due to stinking politics of Aadesh, Jatin and Lalit.
All others are mediocre singers. SRGMP Li’l Champs contestants are better than these so called singers you all are fighting over.
ishmeet is the real winner..he faced every thing…stupid comments ..but he approved to every that he has real playback voice…so ishmeet you are the winner..god bless you..and keep it up …..

A ctually,we should thank Lalit & Adesh! u exposed the real voice of Harshit by selecting the songs he sang on Saturday episode. Its shame, the great Abdia Parveen & other learned guest judge have to listen to such v.v. poor performance from one finalist. Harshit was horrible in “Mitwa” and Pathetic in “Ae Ajnabi”.
So much so he even couldn’t COPY them well……., with the time his copying quality has gone poor as well.
Ishmeet sang the 1st song average but did justice to the second one. Abdia parveen liked that and asked to repeat the “Mukhra”.
Overall this show has been a disgrace to music due to immature acts of its so called judges. Shame on Lalit and Aadesh for having face to sit there. Ishmeet has taken all the blows from these idiots with grace n and showed character and dignity. I wish he wins this final and all these bunch of jokers get slapped on their ugly faces, for the harm they have given to the soul of music.

Karla, you are not mature enough to detect class. You are the one who needs to grow up. I looked back at this trail and you still seem to be bitter because Toshi got voted out, and have a tendency to think that the show should not go on because of this.

Ismeet and harshit are both very bad singers. Thay have out the Toshi its not fair. This programme is false and just like gambling. Every thing is decided before. Toshi was telented and he is out. Shame on you Voic of India. You will be punished for this unjustification

Now,Rovino has class. Hats off to you. Maybe Harold is right and I am bitter about Toshi’s elimination. I love music and Toshi’s voice to bits and am disgusted with the injustice. But I also believe that Priyani, Abhaas, Irfan and even Prantik were better than what’s left now. The other thing I cannot stand is that don’t put down the singer for how some of his fans behave. I agree that some of Toshi’s fans take things to extremes and though loving Toshi the way I do I can understand that and accept that not everyone can. Similarly, Harold’s comment about class was a bit crass for me. His comment was an insult to the fans of the other VOI (like begets Like)
Why do Toshi’s fans not have class? coz he comesfrom a poor background. I think the fact that he has come so far and has struggled so much to reach here should at least earn him your respect-even if you can’t bring yourself to appreciate his singing.
Personally, I wish all the ones who have been eliminated the best and pray that they make it big in life (Yes, Harold- most of my prayers are for Toshi).

Please do not fight with each other. I agree with those who think that Toshi, Irfan, Priyani, Abhilasha and of course Abhaas were much much better than these 2 who are still there. I am just looking forward to 24th Nov as I’ll get to see all the other 10 contestants to perform and from 25th I don’t have watch this show which has become “Sachche Suron ki Badnam”….
According to me Zee’s little champs show is 10 times better than VOI.

hI,,,I think Ishmeet doesnot desereve to be under bemisaal 12..here the question is not of singing good only but it should be outstanding,,,Ishmeet can only sing straight ,,simple,,and melodious songs with light beat but I am really sorry to say he cannot sing all types of songs and I think VOI should be someone who has the potential of singing every type of song..Harshit u r da best and I can say u will be da VOI…Keep it up
Hi,,,I think this program is no more VOI but it has become a gamble what I believe is that they should call all bemisaal 12 and do the voting again the person who got the highest vote should be awarded as VOI….I think this is the best they can do…
Harshit should be the voice of india. otherwise the show will go flop. Harshit is much better than ishmit. Harshit can sing diffcult type of song where ishmit is not. Harshit voice is a cinematic voice also a play back singer voice.
He has sang hare rama hare krishina, chand mera dil, phir ta hoon istara is memorable.
The winner has already been decided 2 months ago. Its HarSHIT. So even if Ishmeet will get more votes than HarSHIT he’ll be neturalised by Lataji’s 50% votes. BTW Ishmeet has already been at the receiving end of the rasict comments of the judges. It was really shameful of one of the Pundit brothers to say that ‘Punjab to sab jaga phella hua hai’. He was implying that even the rest of India votes that Ishmeet got were of the Punjabis living in other states . Abhijjet Da correctly told him that UP wallahs are even more spread out “UP to poore prithvi mein phella hua hai”. May be Jatin- Lalit don’t know that there are millions of Bhaiyyas from UP and Bihar living in Punjab only .

But we hear this word every time a contestant from a non-hindi speaking state gets more votes.The ppl from the ‘Hindi-Belt’ think that they r the ‘real’ India and the rest are all ‘regional’. What a shame.

Also it was really inappropriate of Raju Shrivaastav , who also hails from UP , to comment to Ishmeet (even though jokingly) “Ab tum kya banooge, arrey ban to chuke ho PM”. That means the only thing he saw in Ishmeet is that he comes from the same state as the current PM!!!!!.That means they(UP wallahs) find it unusual if the PM is not from UP . I am very much satisfing with ABHIJEET’s comment that compitition is finished after TOSHI’s elimination. There is no more compitition. TOSHI is only candidate for victory.

Now Harshit & Ishmeet were present at this scene and they were so scared and ran away from the stage. Lataji was very happy because he didn’t want to choose VOI from final 2 and Amul company went bankrupt for sponsoring VOI.

Well…I have been to all d comments posted here. I do think, literally, both Indian Idol and VOI were fixed throughout.
I can bet none of even VOI judges can sing like toshi because of the effort he puts in. You would agree that playing wid ‘Raag’ requires years of practice 2 master. Had it been easy, we had heard many singers doing that.
Simply, I couldn’t find any1 better or even parallel to Toshi.
Now, the stage is all set for Harshit. We all know Ishmit has been there just because of this 1-on-1 contest. Had it been Toshi, Harshit would have been a goner.
Manipulation everywhere. Even elimination of Abhas and Toshi was a drama to beg more votes from janta(every vote costs). As long as manipulation works, Indians can’t elect a singer of their choice.

I am a Toshi fan but One reality is that Toshis voice is not good for romantic songs.It is made for sufi songs.So he has differenr zone.Like Onik dhar saregama winner has such a sweet voice like professional singer.May be ishmeet is not talented but his voice is sweet.So I like toshis voice but still Music lovers like Ishmeet and Harshits voice better than him.This is the truth.Good luck to both.

No my dear friend I am not teacher as well Minister.I am just a simple person and work in construction. I am a big beleiver in Humanity not in any religon. Religions are man made. It create problems all the time.I like Toshi too but has different style. Nusrat Fathey ali khan my favrt been start listen that guy in 1988. His style of singing can take you very close to GOD. I havn’t seen any body close to him yet. Toshi will be good like him but not that good. Out of these two remainning singers, I like Ishmit. Just close your eyes and then listen this guy. As a matter of fact
they are looking for a voice which will suit to the film indusry. What you think if Jagjit Singh take part in this compition will he win. Answer is NO.

Harshit and Ishmeet, both has very sweet and soothing voice (specially Ishmeet-very soft voice)
But my vote goes to Harshit, as he has variety in his voice. He can sing any mood of the song and in any style.
N Ishmeet voice doesnet support him for tring diff style of singing like for hip hop and all. His voice is best for calm, soothing n heart touching songs.
As per me, VOI means “Jack of all trades-as much as possible”.So my vote goes to Harshit
Abhash was fantastic, i have never seen his type singer(I can say, he was a master of singing)

All the participant who kicked out from the competition are of great caliber in compare to participant kept for show. Since Hon .Lataji will be judje for the finals she should have to listen Abhas Joshi. Without Abhas NO VOICE OF INDIA

I think this is a rigged contest. They want Harshit to win even though there is a problem with his diction as Mr. Mangeshkar mentioned indirectly. I do not think Ishmeet was the best but he is definitely better than Harshit.

Did you guys notice in 17 th november episode in Banaras - Harshit actually did a vote appeal for Ishmit. I was so touched by Harshit’s honesty (Khuddari). He could sense that Ishmit might feel uncomfortable seeing , everyone praising Harshit. He was so gracious by doing a vote appeal for Ishmit. Ishmit did not do any of those when they were in Ludhiana.
