It’s interesting to note that the poll I kept on my site also lead to Ishmit as the winner. There were total of 166,000+ votes and Ishmit was the leader with 57% votes. See it below:

I have watched this show in Canada. Ishmmet had a tough time, sometimes biased comments, and regional bias but his faith in Waheguru pumped strength and courage. He sings from heart and have a sweet voice. He will shine . He deserved it as many independent guests and celebrties commented.

I would like to remind people that we weren’t looking for the singer with the cleanest heart but the nicest voice. No one cares whether its a sikh singing or a hindu singing or a muslim singing, why can’t people just focus on the voice, after all it is “Voice of India.”

I hate to say that but All the Pkistani ppl are in favor of Toshi… nothing against Toshi but cmon… If you like Toshi that much, get his recordings and shove it up to your f**kin A$$… and stop wining… Ppl like Ishmeet they voted for him and he got the crown… if you dont like him dont listen to his stuff.
Congrats to Ishmeet, even though I wasn’t supporting him at all. But near the end he kinda grew on me with his increasing confidence and I didn’t mind seeing him win over Harshit. I still think Toshi, Irfan, Abhaas are better but whatever, that doesn’t matter right now. What matters most is what Ishmeet does now. Irfan and Toshi have already got contracts for movies inspite of losing. Ishmeet, I believe, has a contract for an album. Let’s see how that turns out and where he goes from there. Frankly, I see him becoming somewhat successful due to his different voice. But he needs more training if he wants to be really recognized and at/near the top in Bollywood.
People of India are not fool. They have selected the voice which they were looking for. Ishmit has that voice and that is the reason he is on TOP today. Some fans of toshi and ifran are still living in dreams. They don’t realize that toshi has been terminated twice by people of India.

If you watched todays show, you might have noticed that when shaan asked the audience about who would get the jury award, the whole audience in the stadium started shouting “TOSHI, TOSHI, TOSHI” and Shaan and the other judges were also embarassed as they had decided to give it to Abhas previously itself. But even the stadium audience who came to see the grand finale knows that there is nobody better than TOSHI in Voice of India nor in any of the reality singing shows. Thats why all love Toshi and it is about his singing and not about his religion, region, caste, creed etc. Make your basics clear crap, you are a big dumbA$$

Anyway I found the audience’s choice of Ishmeet very good. He has improved a lot recently and has started to sing with emotions. I liked his Jab se tere naina from Saawariya today much better than Harshit’s song. He is also good at heart. Congrats to him and may he gain more success. Same goes for Harshit too.
Best of luck to all the contestants and particularly to Toshi who is far above the rest and would become a legendary voice one day.
Only one decision was wrong and that was taken by the idiot judges. The jury award for the best singer should have gone to Toshi but it was given to Abhaas though the whole audience were shouting Toshi and he actually deserved it. I also felt that Abhijeet did not come to the show as he knew about the jury award not being given to Toshi and so was disappointed.

Show jury showed a terribbly biased attitude especially Adesh and Lalit and even Abhijeet. Being a member of jury one needs to be neutral and not a biased promoter. Varanasi show of November17, 2007- Look at the jury members (Adesh and Lalit) asking for votes for one particular singer(Harshit) -Shame -Shame-Shame. These people are from bollywood and they should try to learn from, Lata ji, Ganjawala, Booman Irani, Bipasha, John Abraham- How these superstars appealed- VOTE FOR THE BEST. Congrates -Ishmeet -Harshit Learn to believe in ownself and do not be carried by others.

Alka is the biggest flip-flopper of all times, she has been openly supporting Harshit inspite of Ishmeet being in her team … based on the voting trends since the last few days she changed her opinion of the last six months & mentioned Ishmeet would win
The other three judges are ok but these two are just too much … they keep flip-flopping all the time
i am dissapointed because ishmeet is an average singer like most people and there is nothing that makes him different than others. toshi, abhaas, harshit all sang very well and they had a good classical backgrounds too and lot of people don’t have that and that is what makes them different than others! the hard work and patience in learning brings them far. i can find thousands of people who sing like ishmeet!!

I think the show was not about singing at all. It was about using poeple’s emotions andcashign in on the SMS money. Then of course time and again history has proved that the the JUNTA is always with teh underdog. ( a la Prashant Tamang) So the underdog wins again. Ismeet is not a good singer, he has a pleasant voice, but Toshi, Irfan, Aaabas Harshit and Priyani had the voice AND the talent.
Never mind, this one award. What matters is what goes ahead in life And there talent is the only thing that matters.
What I absolutely hated was the Babaji’s bitrthday and all that crap. I thought Sikhism was secular and non- ritual!! Guru Nanak will bless only the Sardar????? Puhleeeease

I really didnt care who would win in the end. I was just glad to see the Irfan, Abhaas and Mirande back.. The show was worth watching because of the return of these and other fallen angels. I still can’t get over how good Irfan sang. This is called talent.. Singing the same song on 3 separate occasions in different manners… Still trying to recover from it..

Welll…The result is finally out and Ishmeet is the Winner….My hearty congratulations to Ishmeet….Though Initially i did not like Ishmeet in the finals,sumhow towards the end,there was a drastic change in his confidence level as well as singing….Bheege honth tere was too good…Ishmeet is only an above average singerbut looking at the fact that he is not a trained singer…one must admit that he definitely is a top class singer.I am sure if he is formally trained…he wud be a great hit for years to come in the Bollywood industry because he has a voice which touches the heart…a voice thats original and different.
Harshit deserved the title(because he is no doubt a better singer technically!) but he was sort of over confident at times and clearly shows attitude.Originality matters a lot and he did copy Kumar shanu and Kishore kumar most of the time….above all the Judges have always been very good to him right from the start…no matter what and that instead of working in favour of Harshit made him over confident and finally he lost the race.Sum of his performances in the finale are pathetic…just like ae ajnabi.
But i am sure he has a long way to go….
Toshi,Abhaas and Irfan have already started recording songs and that is their greatest Victory….The Janta might overlook these great performers but how can the Musicians overlook the real talent???so Justice prevails and these guys are already Rocking!!!!
About the Jury Award,My personal opinion is that among the Male singers,Toshi or Irfan shud have won it.And among the Female singers,Priyaani was any day better than Abhilaasha in terms of versatality.

Out of all the comments I found Mala’s comment to be more close to fair analysis.
We all have our own fav. based on what we prioritize…religion, innocence, good looks, region, language etc. But keeping all this aside we should be able to identify some criteria’s to consider one as the title winner. Hopefully trained voice, quality of voice, consistency in sur and nodes, verstality are some parameters which most people will agree. I for example am a diehard fan of Sumitra…I love her for her composure, excellent and versalite singing…but I have to admit that in a contest like this you have to consider natural gifts also for example the voice of priyani, abhilasha was more “sureele” and then they are equally versatile and good singers.
To be fair to judges, they were having no special reasons to like Harshit…he is a true playback singer and same as Abhas. I am no great fan of these judges and I resent them when they had stopped and humiliated people in audition and stopped them while they were singing. I also disliked some of their comments which were contradictory as in case of Arvind whom first they criticised for copying Kishore kumar and then changed their instance in case of Harshit. Then they take wrong decisions while selecting bemisaal 12 and selected Ishmeet who was completely besura that day and dropped a promising singer like Arvind. and I think realizing this Abhijeet who speaks truth though harshly have mentioned that Ishmeet should not have been in bemisaal 12. But then didn’t these same judges praised Ishmeet when he started singing good..for example didn’t Jatin say…he is singing in finals as final and he has come a long way and improved a lot. So they recognized when Ishmeet started singing good. Today I admit that Ishmeet was giving a real fight to Harshit. But please my request to audience is that don’t be unfair to Harshit by saying “he brought his dadi and begged for votes”. I see it as differently that bringing elders in stage and paying them respect and why do you guys forget Ishmeet when he was in hospital and when he came back…crying in stage and speaking about his mother…everytime raising religious slogans.
I think there were 14 excellent singers including vipul and arvind…they were unfortunate to have been left out. Ishmeet has really come a long way because he got most chances and he continued to stick around. but he learnt and his voice quality was never questionable, it was verstality, hitting right nodes and training that he was missing which it seems from the final few episodes, that he really improved towards perfection. Now I think it is sad to see Harshit lost because he has been singing at the same level right from the begining which Ishmeet achieved towards the end.
In the end I feel what I disliked most was turning this competition an SMS competition between Punjab and UP. Open regionalism, blatant regionalism without shame. And I think this guy Gaji and Shaan did all this for more SMSes and money without caring about ethics and values.

Heartiest congratulations to Ishmeet!India has got an original voice.He has got melifluous,velvety voice which touches the hearts.He sings from the heart with emotions,not copying great singers like Kumar Sanu and Kishor Da. In the beginning Ishmeet was just at par with the other contestants, but during the last weeks he improved a lot and his performance remained superb till the end.
It is very sad that two judges-namely Adesh and Jatin openly promoted Harshit in Varanasi-
as if they were his convessing agents.As a result Harshit started performing with attitude and resorted to emotional blackmail as evident in”Dadi” episode. Similarly these respected two judges were also biased towards Abhaas,declaring Judges Award to him,ignoring people’s choice Toshi .There is nothing objectionable in seeking Waheguru’s (God’s-Allah’s)blessings by Ishmeet on Guru Nanak Jayanti.Why some people resented that. Good luck and brilliant success for Ishmeet, Harshit and all the able singers of the show.

It’s always nice to post comments in this great blog. Always I mentioned about this blog as like as my own family. And all the bloggers are just like my family members. Despite all our disagrees, fights still I think this blog as my family. Last time in this blog I said that I will never gonna post again and will quit this blog. But after this final I can’t just stop my self posting here today.
About The Result:
Despite I am an extreme Toshi fan, I have to say that as per this final (As there was no extreme talented singers like Toshi, Irfan, Sumitra, Arshpreet), among Ishmeet & Harshit, I was eagerly wanted to see Ishmeet as SVOI and the justice fullfiled. Because I always believed that, only Ihmeet’s win can spoil the dirty & nasty games & plans of stupid Gajj & the 5 stupid judges. I am very much glad that it happened. And the reasons are:
1. Despite not a learner Ishmeet has a sweet and nice voice. On the other hand with much knowledge in music Harshit the Dady Cry baby is basically a copy cat singer but has some powers in his voice. And it’s always better to see a singer of his owns than a copy cat one.
2. If you observe the last 3 episodes, then it will be crystal clear to you that, Ishmeets performances were much better than Harshit.
3. Ishmeet never received any favorisms or asked for that from the judges (Except sometimes from Abhijeet). On the other hand, Harshit always tried to get sympathy votes by excusing blind Dadi Ma and till last moment he received favorsfrom the judges just like always.
4. Despite Ishmeet is not so much talented singer like TOSHI, IRFAAN, SUMTRA, ARSHPREET and ABHAAS, atleast he reached to the GRAND FINALE by peoples votes. But believe me, though Harshit is a good singer (Also a copy cat singer) he reached to the Grand Finale by the mercies of stupid judges and stupid Gajj.
Another Controversially Of Grand Finale:
These Judges & Gajj are really biased and stupids. Look what happened at special jury award time. They have crowned Abhaas instead of Toshi which is completely intolerable. All the people were shouted for Toshi. But the stupid judges crowned abhaas. Shaan also did some drama when he mentioned that ” Some people are saying about Toshi, and some are Abhaas”. But that time I didn’t heard people shouting for Abhaas. I believe Abhaas is a talented singer but just ask yourselves, do you all believe he is better than Toshi or even better than Irfaan! This is all up to you.
The voice of the World confirmed:
When ever Toshi appears at Grand Finale people were shouting so much than they even shouted for the two finalists. Which completely proves that, for the great people of India Toshi is their true hero and Voice Of The World.

Congratulation to Ishmeet to win SVOI from deep of my heart. I also congratulate all the Punjabi’s to support him so blindly and helped Ishmeet to win SVOI.
ANd the curtain finally unfolds …… as expected Ishmeet won…and if u ask me…he deserved to win much more then that copy cat Har-SHIT……although I never watched a single episode of the show after Toshi was eliminated….I was somehow forced to see the results last night…YES…. between the two harshit was the beter singer but since he was the favroute of those people called JUDGES…I’m happy that he lost…I hope that those fools now realize that the JANTA doesnt give a sh*t about what they think….I wonder if his DADI died of a heart attack on his loss!!!!!!…bullsh*t ….
ANd wats with Alka…I mean c’mon giving Abilasha the best talent award….:@:@:@ some one should teach these people about judging real talent…And Abhass being given the judges award
these idiots!!! ….they just can’t help putting favorism in front of real talent…..Remember these judges were the same ppl who rejoiced when Irfan was eliminated instead of Harshit after the Qawali special :@……
PHUCK harshit I guarentee you that even if harshit makes it in the industry he would never get to be a famous singer simply coz ppl will always mistake his songs for Kumar Sanu!!!!!!!

I think Ishmit has an excellent personality but singing wise, he’s pathetic compared to Abhaas, Irfaan, Arshpreet and many others. Its not the point that he’s good at singing, its the point that he’s got the support of whole of punjab. I didn’t like the final two…. I think both of them are quite horrible. They arent even in the standards of Abhaas and Irfan…
I think this show just lost its focus the moment the judges started to make VETO entry and wild card entry suggestions. And second of all, they had their own favorites which technically they are not supposed to have. They are judges and they are supposed to be a neutral jury. The public is the one who can side with the contestants and the decision of the public is supposed to be based on the rightful insights of the judges, which in this show was never present.
Ishmeet winning on this show was probably good because that poor kid took a lot of S@#$ from the judges in front of the whole country and not everybody is a versatile singer. Ishmeet has an original voice and is am awesome romantic singer. His song Mashaallah from Saanwariya just blew me away.

Decision is decision. i respect it. But TOSHI is only candidate who desreve for this title. But indian folk did not support him. It is sound good that TOSHI is started recording.

Congratulations Ishmeet, and good luck Harshit! I am glad Abhaas got the Judges’ Award. People, it was not the audience award, it was the judges’ award, and the little guy deserves it.
Abhijeet did no attend because he was on tour. So many people make comments and they know little. about what they are saying.
I am glad that Abhaas was honoured. In my opinion, that guy has class, and he definitely has a great singing future ahead of him.
As you will see, crowd popularity does not always translate into success. A lot of you will be disappointed 1 yr from today when certain people don’t move ahead.

Lots of predictions on this forum. Guys, VOI is over so stop playing God and predicting who is going to do how in future. Leave that to God and time will tell.
What did Shaan mean when he introduced Prantik, Irfan, Toshi and Abbas as they have all got work ….. I know of Irfan singing in Mukesh Bhatt’s movie and I heard some rumours of Toshi doing a Nusret Fateh Album. But have Abbas and Prantik got some work too?? Does someone know about this. It’s great if it is true.
Sorry Karla, not playing God, but I am entitled to make any predictions I want. I did predict that Abhaas would be honoured at the finals, and that was because of reports I read about film stars who were praising him highly.
I do get the latest on stars’ comments, and right now, I know Abhaas is being negotiated with to come to NY, Toronto and Vancouver.
I don’t believe he will tour just yet, but I can see that happening soon. Right now, Abhaas has committments he wants to honour first.

First, let me say that I am not a fan of Ishmeet. For all those people who are saying that Ishmeet got votes only from north aren’t they forgetting that he got 45%from south, 48 % from east, 40 % from west and I am not counting north. That adds to a lot of votes. It was obviously a close contest and not a walkover as all messages are making it seem . So ishmeet DID get a lot votes from all over india. harshit just got a few more. And since Gajji never announced the total number of votes, we don’t know if we are talking lakhs or crores here. And 5 % of a few lakhs is not much
So let’s not make this a regional thing just because Gajji did so because he wanted to earn money through SMS . And let’s not forget that Harshit came from north too. Morover, north is more than just Punjab
Not the result for what people looking.And one thing i will say that this show was for Voice of India not Voice of Punjab i must say.and my opinian that punjab is biger then whole india any one from india can give answer to me.the real voice of india was Thoshi he can sing all kind of songs not Ishmeet.and one last thing the people of india dint know what is music.best wishes to Thoshi.

the real fact is if you look at the statistics of voting results the three out of four zones voted for harshit with big difference but from North where UP and punjab is …. the result show that punjabis voted madly for their hero Ishmeet… and they voted so much than that rest of india… I congratulate Ishmeet but for me the VOI is Harshit! Toshi was too excellent and i hope he will prove himself to be one of the best singer’s of all time of indian music in the upcoming years!!
so what did all the Punjabis spend their life savings on voting for Ishmeet?

and on the results. well now i get what these competetions are all about. You need to be a punjabi or Army, as in pakistan and india both the communities are in Large numbers. so if you are a force guy or a punjabi you are 80% sure to win, because votings are all about Provinces and Casts. you dont get a vote from a Punjabi even if you are Nusrat fateh ali khan and competing against ISHMIT. lolz well no i am not joking. so i think for next VOI the VOTEs from your Own province should count less. i mean they should give some respect to the neutral zones. as we saw ishmeet was almost down by 30% in almost every Neutral zone. so now we are very very clear that ISHMEET is not the selection of the Neutral zone, so why should neutral zone care about VOI. this is why i hate democracy and votings.
anyways i am hopeful that for next VOI gujji must have this thing in mind.

Hello Toshi’s Die Hard Fan. I myself am a die hard fan of his and you did not get what I was trying to say. I was replying to a guy who said that Toshi only has Pakistani’s as his fans. What I wanted to tell him was that a voice like Toshi’s does not need region or religion to be loved by all and by dividing his fans into Indians and Pakistanis, he was showing his racism. I hope you have got it brother/ sister. Even I agree with you and salute my brothers/ sisters across the border who are real Toshi fans. You have beautiful taste in music.

for all music lovers, on 9x channel,they are starting “MISSION USTAD” from today onwards. the judges are javed akhtar and A.R.Rahman. the contestants are kailash kher, roop kumar rathod,shewata pandit and a few others.We can listen to some good songs it is going to be a good prog.secondly, abhass will not be anchoring the show as mentioned but kunal ganjawala
Frankly both Harshit and Ishmeet does not deserve to be in the finals. Specially Harshit who does not have an original voice but only a copy cat.

well guys i promised myself not to say a word, but something has been pinching me for quite some time now, and i decided to come over and talk about it. Some crazy dude was reminding us all that when people were chanting TOSHI TOSHI, the jury award was given to ABHAS and it was a right decision, because its a JURY award and the jury decides.
well Friend if this a JURY award and the Jury Decides. Jury Decided long time ago in the wild card Round for Abhas to be OUT, and if it wouldnt have been for one of the Screw Head Judges, Abhas would have never made it back to the VOI.
and i dont think any of us would count Naushad out of standards when it comes to jury.

Desturbed: Let me make a comment on what you said on Dec 3. It was not the jury (you mean judges)that got Abhaas out of the show, it was the screwed up voting system, and it was largely due to a judge he got back on. That’s granted. However Abhaas still is/was the best.

As members of the public, we support one person and get emotional. In my case, I have always said Abhaas was my favourite, and despite the outcome of the show, the real decision makers think he is the best also - hence his new job.
Lets skip the semantics and emotions, and accept that today, Abhaas rightfully got the best out of the entire situation. Apart from hosting the show, he also has other contracts he is working on.
There have been so many armchair ‘experts’ analyzing the singers to death. Where are these ‘experts’ now? I have always based everything on how their performance sounded to me personally as a layperson, and as fate would have it, I was right.
Abhaas is the real winner, and now he is gaining worldwide popularity. Would some of you people still spew hatred out of you mouths or will you now close the book and move on.

Hi Priyani: If you think so, then its fine. Everyone can have their own opinions. I personally liked Priyani a lot, especially the liveliness she brought to stage. It would have been awesome if she had been in the finals too.
I still consider Abhaas my all-time favourite. I wish all of these talented singers good luck in the future. There is no way I would ever wish anything bad for any one of them.

he was actually winner of voice of india.
but we think that Forget what the talent is. People vote on the basis of regionalism not on talent. After all we humans are tribalistic, the order is me, my family, my village, my religion, my state, my nation, and last the one who actually deserves.
he was really outstanding singer. I watched all episodes of Voice of India.
and one is important thing that all top ten members come into the chootey ustaad. but star plus not invite to this person. Its our Humbly request that please please invite to this person on stage of saray gama.we will be very thankfull for this kindness.

I live in London so the final has not come yet, in fact Toshi has not yet been eliminated even for the first time! I have watched most of the episodes here though.
NO NOT ISHMEET! Sure he has a sweet face, but I agree with Abhijeet when he says that Ishmeet should have gone out before the ‘bemisaal bara’.
I think the jury awards were given to the correct people - Abhaas and Abhilasha are the best! If Abhaas didn’t get the jury award then it should have been Toshi because he is a close second.
