First, Happy Diwali to you all! May this new year bring happiness and prosperity in your life!
Now coming back to Star Voice Of India. Actually, less said about the show, the better.
Anyway, to summarize, on Friday - 9th November, we have different performances by Harshit/Ishmit/Abhaas. Nothing to write about. Unless you are crazy about any of the contestant, you can simply skip the episode. As if that was not enough, we have some astrologers coming on stage and talking nonsense. We had Raju Shrivasta presenting a ‘mini’ item in beginning of the show. And on top of all this, the neutral/non-neutral voting zone nonsense. This show is about everything but music.
Talking about Saturday’s, 10th November episode, we learn that Abhaas has been voted out. [We had a huge discussion on my previous post about who is voted out...and my insider information was right! ;)]
Other than Jatin taking ‘Saraswati Ma Ki Kasam’, other judges acted quite civil on Abhaas’ elimination. It’s commendable that Abhaas takes up elimination with a smile on his face. His last performance, Naina Thag Lenge, was simply outstanding. Actually, I am really sad to see him go. According to me, he was more deserving to be in Top 2 than Ishmit. In any case, Abhaas is still very young, he has his whole career in front of him and I am sure that very soon he will be singing for bollywood. All the best, Abhaas.
After Abhaas’ elimination, there were two performances each by Ishmit and Harshit. Ishmit was average in both the performances. Where as I really liked Harshit’s E Ajnabi. I must say that Harshit’s voice is growing on me and in this song, his voice gave it a very good feel. He brought out the pain in the song extremely well, one of the best performances on Star Voice Of India so far in my humble opinion.
Harshit also sang Mitwa and did a very good job though I did not like it as much as ‘E Ajnabi’. It was still a decent performance. There were arguments amongst judges on this performance. And someone needs to tell Aadesh that you can not make your point by shouting on top of your lungs. You need to be civil and put forward meaningful arguments to convey your point of view.
They announced that finale will be on 24th November and voting will start from today onwards till the finale. Well Gaji, you are going to make lot of money but you sure have lost all the respect that I had for you. I can not believe that you are the same person who gave us original Sa Re Ga Ma Pa show, introduced Sonu Nigam to us, gave us singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Kunal Ganjawala etc. These days all you seem to care about is money. There is nothing wrong with making money but honestly, you can make money without getting in to cheap stunts. I wish you realize this and next year we have a true ‘Voice Of India’ show.

I agree completely with you J. What a waste of a great platform. Thanks to the choice of judges and the nonsensical voting system, we have lost out on great voices early on and have the weakest of talent in the finals. The programme should have been Choice of India not Voice of India.

It’s all a hoax……something is not right….A voice like Toshi and the Abhaas…….Naw…..People do meddle but not so obviously…..Not that Harshit is bad….He is better than Ishmit….But Abhaas…was

well as we already knew abhas will b voted out so he is out now and we already know HARSHIT will b VOI no matter he gets less votes but reasult seems fix i dont know how he got sympathy of all judges.i realy feel sorrry for poor ishmit he never get appreciation from agni and prithvi( not abhijeet) i must say here agni judges always behind him and and always ready 4 criticise him .im not big fan of ishmit as im of toshi and irfaaan but he is so innocent and his voice is sweet as well he is not copy cat and not crying and beg infront of people there is a word ‘ self respect’ and he has to show his gutts by his singing with his orignal voice as i said b4 this is not chairty show . i was very happy to see one of my fav folk singer ‘ abida parveen’in this show. Now im waiting 4 final and hope we will get inf from insider b4 24 nov that who will be VOI thnx J
For me show runners have blown it again by showing the “sympathy” video in which Harshit mentions that he wanted to pay his dad’s debt…i totally appreciate the honesty of this man but what this and judges attitude toward ismeet does is
create an atmosphere in Punjab that judges want ishmeet out so they vote like mad for him… we can see this in last show where he climbed from 3rd to 1st…
i am totally disgusted with Aadesh and Lalit’s reaction…though i think Harshit is better…
I am happy this will all end in a weeks time hopefully…

It doesnt matter who wins from here on but it is nice to see justice has prevailed … the top 2 are from the original top four

Hi ya all well so final between harshit and some shit im following this programm since long and since beginning harshit and irfan were on my top list ishmit is good but not that good well if result fixed donno but i feel with a voice quality like harshit he should win with a handsome margin all the best to him
Compared to Harshit, Ishmeet sounds like a
chorusboy. Every now and then they modulate
Ishmeet’s voice heavily to make it sound good
but I think Ishmeet is much less than a chorusboy!
Harshit has a much better voice but that is only
when it’s a song recorded in the studio and he
is lip-singing. Singing live, Harshit is rarely
as good as Abhaas. Not to forget the fact that
in live singing, most female contestants were
better than most male contestants. The difference
was really in studio-recorded made-to-look live
pewrformances where male singers stole the show.
I still believe Harshit will be allowed to win
so as to bring back credibility to reality shows
but there is a much deeper message that could be
conveyed in Ishmeet’s defeat. Watch out India,
these are really terrible times for innocent
nations in the East.
It feels good that AR Rahman is impressed by Harshit and has requested that in this episode he sing the song ‘ Ye ajnabi…”. Probably he his making up his mind to sign him.

as abhijeet said that nothing left after the elimination of Irfan and Toshi. harshit is so bad in singing. listen to his sung Mitwa. scrap it is. it means the 2nd runner up of SAREGAMAPA Amanat is better than top 2 of svoi.
believe me i lost my interest in SVOI. on friday 9-nov i didnt watch delibrately and watched lil champ on zee tv. the other day i watched SVOI just bcos of Abida Parveen.
Ishmeet is going better day by day. but harshit really even disappointed all the judges. but above all is that show has no attraction.
the way harshit sang Mitwa can be sung by any street singer even. sargam was wrong, SUR was scattered, voice throw was disbalanced.
“Ae Ajnabi” was suggested by A.R.Rehman to harshit. infact A.R.Rehman wanted to know that who sang better either Amanat or Harshit. and harshit even couldnt maintain the starting of Ae Ajnabi “pakhi pakhi”. Harshit really disappointed all the listeners.
if anyone has any doubt then pls goto youtube and listen to Mitwa and Ae Ajnabi by Amanat. u shell see the clear difference.
my interest in VOI almost finished when irfan was out i truely believe that irfan was and is the best and is VOI for me - he’s got the voice, he’s got the understanding of music and of singing, he has sung alllllll types of songs not like harshit and ishmeet- after irfan i liked toshi and abhaas, i think VOI would have really called VOI if singers like irfan, toshi and abhaas would have been into the finals - i’m sure it would have been much much difficult to judge the best amongst these 3-
now i feel looking at the judges reaction and argument and evaluation i think adesh and lalit want harshit to be the VOI which they make it very obvious and also not forgetting the disgusted reaction after ishmeet’s performance this saturday, which was bad and was not expected from them-
its hard to decide who will be VOI as for me this program already came to an end when singers like irfan, toshi and abhaas were out -
IRFAN YOU ARE THE BESTTTTTTTTTTTT
Under no circumstance it could be the Voice of India. In music India seats in a very respectable position. The audience had given very selected decesion in Saregama. They are not fool to put this present funny situtation in the name of VOI. There are thousand of Ishmit but not in ten like Toshi and Avaas. Toshi and Avaas hve the very close match with Anek, Raja and Amanat. It is totally a loss-loss situation. I request Lataji to declare not the voice of India, it should be the Voice of Star Plus India. It looks fun how judges are forced to tell lies. Harsit has beatiful voice; moreover, needs ten years to learn Taan, what Toshi did in ‘Meya pya Ghar Aya’. Perhaps it would the funeral of honesty and real music lovers.

Thanks Lalit & Adesh! u exposed the real voice of Harshit by selecting the songs he sang on Saturday episode. Its shame, the great Abdia Parveen & other learned guest judge have to listen to such v.v. poor performance from one finalist. Harshit was horrible in “Mitwa” and Pathetic in “Ae Ajnabi”.
I agree with Usman, rather I will add that there is simply no comparison between Amanat of SRGMP and Harshit. Amanat was in different league, even Harpreet was better than Harshit.
And I echo Montaz’s words, it shouldn’t be voice of India, its a crap voice of Star plus of india. Pl don’t disgrace the great Indian Music by giving title of Star voice of india to this show.
Even though I knew that Abhas was going out because he doesn’t enjoy popular support, I was hoping against hope that he’d win. But it was not to be.
But what a performance! This is the best performance I’ve seen on this show. And a close second is his rendition of Satyam Shivam Sundaram.
It’s going to be a terrible disappointment to Lata Mangeshkar to see Ishmit in the finals.

Only Harshit deserves the tilte “Voice Of India”.
He is the best and has a perfect play back singing voice. It will be shame on VOI if Ishmeet wins this competition becasue he has very limited range.

i respect all the judges in the show but the point is that judges should not disappoint the candidate as agni is doing with ishmit .Aadesh ji and lalit ji is doing really bad with ishmit.what do u think.
The way Adesh and Lalit are treating Ishmit is pathetic and disgusting. What are they trying to prove by their stupid behavior. Showing this kind of behavior brings down the morale of the contestant.
I agree that Ishmit is not the best singer nor does he deserve to be in the final. But,
1. Who is deciding that he be in the final?
Yes, the public.
2. Who has given this power to the public?
Yes, the Show director and the channel.
3. Who is making money of this voting system?
The channel.
4. Can the channel give up the voting system?
No, ofcourse they want the money.
So why are they crying about it and making those funny faces. These so called “GURUS” knew this was going to happen even before the show started. They have been a part of Saregama 2005 and saw the votes come in from Assam. Look at what happened with Sony’s Indian Idol.
This is a country where people vote on the basis of religion, caste, state, emotion, and the contestants’ physical looks or disabilities. Talent comes in last place if there is any place left for it.
So, please stop crying YOU HYPOCRITES aka GURUS. Just count your money and have fun.
Who will win ? to answer this question i would say Ishmit but who should win ?? then Harshit. and toshi and abhass should have been here instead.

I have been following the show from the start and the actual good singers have all left the show. But what the judges are doing now against Ishmet is totally ridiculuos and should not be entertained at any cost.
They all want Harshit to win so let him as it seems this has been their objective and their PROJECT since the start, but this doesnt give them the right to hurt Ishmet’s feelings. He might not be as good as the others but they dont have the right to put him down like this everytime.
The judges should grow up and act as mentors in real.They are acting worse then kids. The organiser should be ashamed of such a show where there is no truth about anything.

I far away in USA but attachment to singing reality shows like Sa Re Ga MA PA and SVOI is always highest lavel and yes that’s why feelings obviously comes for true singers like Abhaas,Irfaan and Toshi (at this stage we should not forget couple of good female singers) and whaever singing knowledge I have I can atlist say that this final should be inbetween 3 but not 2. My Final 3 singers are Abhaas, Toshi and Irfaan They were Fantastic, out standing and mind blowing new edge singers. I am sure thiese two guys Ismit and Harshit are capable of singing of the lavel of those three outstanding but eliminated(because of mere bad voting system?). I think These two finalist have concentrated more in getting votes from their states rather than singing “Riyaz”. They are good enough to fight some election but not singing in Final.
Abhass , Toshi and Irfaan should call back in Final as a Guest singers front of “Lataji” because they are deserving her Ashirwad. And finally want to ask all those judges please do not forget your statments and commitments during the all past shows for those good signgers to “give them chance in playback singing” (because public is watching that what lavel of keeping promises.)…Overall I have enjoyed whole SVOI because we heared some realy good voices. Final will not be that interesting except Lataji’s presence. I wish all the participants Good luck and all sucess for their career.

Harshit and Abhaas were the two best singers!! Irfan didn’t have a voice and he had to struggle to bring make his voice heard. Ishmeet keeps singing songs that are at the same level and can’t sing classical, nor very high notes. Toshi is good but his voice is kind of bad. Harshit is pretty consistent in his singing and he is really good and so is Abhaas except Abhaas’s voice is a little bit odd and i believe his voice will get better as he gets older!

Abbas is my favorite singer, he is out from SVOI. Harshit is good, but he is only singing from mouth not from his heart like abbas and Ishmeet. Ishmeet has good voice, he is great singer, u all know better, ask from ur heart. only diffrence is that he is sardar???? u all are narrow minded. If Ishmeet is better then y u guys r hesitate to say this???? I m sayin that Ishmeet is great singer, we can compare him with Sonu Nigam…. Thanx…Feel from ur Heart
The show is fixed for sure considering the elimination of stronger and more eligible contestants. Moreover, the way some judges (Adesh Srivastava )pleaded for votes for Harshit was appaling indeed. How can anyone be so petty !!
Between Ishmeet and Harshit ,Ishmeet is more deserving. I completely agree with Anjali…just because Ishmit is from a sikh family, entire India (except Punjab) is standing up against him. Well, It happens only in India !
it happens only in india that people believe that sikhs and muslims don’t get votes just because of thier religion. why can’t people concentrate on their singing and forget about their religions or whatever. and what bugs me even more is when people say that it is all fixed if a hindu wins even if the hindu deserved it!

I’m so glad that Ishmeet has won !! Ishmeet, not only are you truly the voice of India, you are an epitome of strength and self-confidence. No other way could anyone brave the uncouth behavior of the likes of adesh srivastava and emerge the ultimate winner.
Today when entire nation is celebrating Ishmeet’s victory, some ‘bhayias’ of ‘aaj tak’ news channel seemed to be really pissed off with the outcome of voice of india. They invited adesh srivastava (!) to discuss the result and the voting system. Just a word to them - Ishmeet is the voice of India because he got more votes- from where it really doesn’t matter. We need to look at the votes in totallity..the aggregate. Why did he get more votes - because he is more deserving ! His voice has a class. Whereas, Harshit’s voice is so plebian, so very local.
So, let me congratulate Ishmeet again. Congratulations Ishmeet. Good luck !
I M FROM KARACHI PAKISTAN, A MUSIC LOVER AND MANY MANY PAKISTANIES WATCHES VOI SHOW REGULARLY. ALL OF US WONDER THAT HOW ISHMEET THROUGH TO FINAL. HIS VOICE IS VERY LOW AND STYLE OF SINGING IS NOTHING BUT ITS LUCK OR SOMETHING ELES HE REACHED TO FINALS AND WON.
ALL OF US WANT TO HARSHIT BE VOICE OF INDIA. ALL INDIA TRIED FOR IT AND FAILED. VERY SAD WHY THIS HAPPEND WITH A DESERVING SINGER.
