News is that Toshi and Abhaas are in chakrawat and Toshi has been voted out.
My heart goes out for the talented guy. I wish him all the best in everything he does!

It’s good to hear the confirmed news that Toshi is voted out. Wildcard entry was really not fair to the other contastants. Toshi and Abhaas should have been voted out before Iran and Abhilasha. I really feel sorry for Irfan. Any contestant, no matter who it is, is once voted out should remain out. Wildcard and Veto power are rediculous. I wanted to see Irfan and Harshit in the final, now only Harshit is left I wish him all the best.

this is not gonna be a great final n e way…wild card roung was only to bring back Avaas…thats it…nd i believe that there is complete manipulation in this show.
To me if HARSHIT is voi then let me tell u to my opinion he is gonna be flop…becoz if he can be hit then why same kinda voice KUMAR SANU dont get a single chance for playback now a days?
Avaas is a good singer..infact very good singer…he will get few songs to sing thats for sure…to me Avaas and irfan was second choice…but i may tell u Avaas’s solo album will be a flop and very few lead actor in this era will be happy to leap his voice…his voice suits DILIP KUMAR 30 years back.
I have nothing to say about Ishmeet…his voice is new…he has to learn a lot…and then he may become a good playback singer.
n e way happy for TOSHI…he has got the contact of singing in NFA Khan’s album…nice begining…great future.

The best singer on the show has gone last week itself….yess I m talking abt IRFAN….Much for Zaki’s comments abt Toshi…who gives a damn abt him …..As he himself agrees Bollywood singers are nt equipped enough to sing what toshi sings….So it means to be a Bollywood singer you don’t have to be like Toshi ..This deduction is solely from Zaki’s comments…
Now I ask him, forget abt these technicalities…can Toshi sing all types of songs(that is what is expected out of a true play back singer)??…i think even the greatest of his fans would say a firm NO! I agree he can sing only a particular kind of songs, the so-called Teri Diwani kind of songs, brilliantly.But it all ends there…He can only sing those songs nothing more….just check back the episodes WHENEVER HE CHOOSE SOME DIFFERENT KIND OF SONG HE FLOPPED TO CONVINCE…..
whereas IRFAN is one such singer who has shown time and again on the show that he is the most VERSATILE….I am sure even the worst critic will agree to it…..May be he is nt as good as Toshi in one particular genre as he is nt trained in classical singing…I bet once he gets trained TOSHI would be nowhere near him (this was pointed out by Abhijeet in one of the episodes)…
So now my whole point is how can anyone claim a particular singer who is brilliant in one genre to be the best singer…in other words a ONE DIMENSIONAL SINGER….when on the contrary we have another singer who is much more versatile and brilliant in all the genres…..
SO when it comes to playback singing I think IRFAN was the only real find on this show, others are either too MONOTONIC or too IMITATIVE

I am happy to hear that Toshi has got a contract of NFA Khan’s album. Toshi being a sufi singer is going to do justice to NFA Khan’s album but he can not be a playback singer. SVOI needs to be specific about what exactly they are looking for. I believe they are specifically looking for the voice for play back singing.
I dont like any one now.Just Irfan and toshi and sumitra were good.They all are gone now.

well done judges you claim to be pundits and masters of music i m still a learner of music but at least can understand and appreciate good singing and attractive music.VOI now has become a useless bcoz the best singers have been thrown out for the only reasons that they r Muslims although Muslims have remarkable place in the sub-continent music well done well done.At least i would not watch this program again at last i advice u to telecast the wild card round and listen the views of great judge khayyam

My first & last comment on this site.
I am a Toshi fan by accident. I was searching for Teri Deewani video (which I think is well put) on google some three weeks ago where I found this guy’s performance in SVOI. Before that I did not even know such a show existed. I am in Dubai and due to work don’t have the time to watch TV at all.
I am a music admirer and can differentiate where a singer has missed “Sur” and used wrong “Taan”. Believe me guys, Toshi plays with music notes like he always knows how to come back after skipping a taal deliberately.
The most important part of music is “SUR”. And everyone should accept that in this aspect Toshi is by far way ahead of the current competition. Add to it, Harkatein and Sargam… Others can’t do it. See Harshit & Toshi in “Dil da mamle hai dilbar”. Harshit tried but retracted.
Rest of the contestants are good as there always are some (other shows like Indian Idol, SAREGAMA) but I am thankful to SVOI to unfold such rare talent (which others have not).
I am happy that Toshi has been voted out. He is above the competition and it is really not fair to others.
I also believe that current judges do not have the credentials to judge Toshi and give him 9 out of 10 when they clearly know they themselves could not sing close to his performance.
I truly believe that Toshi will emerge and over-shadow most big names in the Music Industry.

Well Well well. what can i say, when i thought that the people are on the right track for choosing the RIGHT VOI, there they go again. what can one expect, where Parshant can be Indion Idol, with my applogies to Ishmeet’s fans, ishmeet is the VOI for you. Or harshit as his Grand Mother is going to earn him votes. Seriously i think they should not mention the name of the state or the contestant belongs to.

I admire Toshi because he is indeed a great singer. But my favorite is Abhaas. Hope he wins though based on the current trend, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ishmeet or Harshit wins the title!Mediocrity,thou art the winner yet again!

First of all this voting system is crap & a proxy for judges and show producers for saving face in the face of criticism when they want to eliminate someone and be honourable. That is why i call such shows fixed craps. Coz they are not looking for real music talent but craving for advertisement money, as was saregamapa show. This is not realty but they make it look like reality show even You can look at the shilpa shetty’s big brother win in the UK it became highly politicised show after some contestant (Judy) called shilpa names and was thrown out of the show and controvercially shilpa was declared winner in the face of criticism from Indian public and government and saved British face being devoid of racism. But there is not such case and its the vice versa they have a hiding smoke screen named public voting and they cane easily get away with it and there is no superior body overlooking the events and bringing the right couse of action into play.

Never mention the name of the state!? That can’t be done coz it is a national tournament and once people have made it to the final stage (even before that), it will be revealed. It’s not a secret recruiting so that the details can be kept confidential. It is pretty clear that the public voting system will never be removed. It generates a lot of money and it keeps the public involved more than just being part of the audience. But along with voting judges’ decision should also hold some weight. Right now, there is no point for the judges to be sitting there. Hell even I could sit there and give every person a 9. It’s not going to effect the public’s decision anyway.
So a system should be used where the judges have equal power as the public, if not more. I’m sure a lot of people realize this, but hopefully by people running the show implement it so as to avoid making the show a farce and an utter joke. Ishmeet in the final 3!!! That’s beyond a joke.
And just to add to the last post, like Lalit ji said, Ishmeet will never go out. It doesn’t matter what or how he sings, he will make it to the final 2. And that’s exactly what’s happening.
But I am glad that the final round will be judges by Lata ji (so I’ve heard). Hence it is pretty much gauranteed that Ishmeet will not be VOI. He will need a miracle to sing better than Harshit or Abhaas. Plus the final round will most probably be each singer singing 2-3 songs, possible of different genres. And we all know how well Ishmeet does once he steps out of his ground of easy soft songs. When it calls for energy the puttar seems to be an underfed starving kid. Anyway I’m glad that Lata ji will preside over the finals and there won’t be any voting booth from Punjab to help Ishmeet out!
I dont want to talk about VOI or Toshis elimination. What hurt me most today is all those terrible comments and dirty language used by most of the people here. Guys pls remember this is a website and not a place to wash ones dirty linen. Honestly J there has to be certain moderation from ur part when comments are posted. Pls lets restrain ourselves to healthy comments abt music and not defend our religion.There are lots of other places to do that.

Yes it is indeed sad that toshi got voted out. i do not believe in the authenticity of voting system in VOI. Anyway people who are destined to be famous will be irrespective of becoming VOI or not. good music directors like Rehman have brought up so many people… remember Sukhwinder singh??? who was a big flop after his 2 private albums with some song which went something like makhana ko dil se laga ke rakna… and then chaiyya chaiyya happened……. i too think that VOI has to be a playback singer. he has to be a good singer….. Kailash khers songs are so good…. need not be filmed on anyone.
Toshi and Irfan will get chances in movies.. Ultimately that is what is imp… all the harshits and ishmeets can win the show and disappear later…….

U shud tell the peeps who dont wanna know the results not to read ur reviews. I am sure the majority of us wanna know b4 hand.
Anywho, if Toshi is out then i aint gonna bother watching the show anymore xcept for the grand finale cuz the venerable Lata Mangeshkar is gonna preside.
And of course we all know that Harshit is Lalit’s favorite (and he got the blind granma sympathy card), Abhaas is Jatin’s favorite (and he got the 17-yr old goody tooshoos naive lil kiddo card) and Ishmeet got the Punjab/Sikh votes. The best voices of Irfan and Toshi as we all knew were gonna be booted.
I figured SVOI was different but its the same as SRGMP where the best voices of Raja Hassan and Amanat were kicked out for the mediocre voice of Aneek. And the best voice of INDIAN IDOL, Amit Paul was eliminated to make way for Prashant just cuz he wears a uniform.
Khayyam said it right that learned judges of music should preside and select or eliminate singers not the general public majority of whom have no knowledge of music.

Its very sad to hear this news in advance. Now there is no charm in this show. I had made my comments in the performance “Tadap Tadap” in youtube. This is actually regional show and to make business from the SMSs. I was Fan of Irfan more than Toshi due to his more verstilality. In Sonunigam episode the he clear state about his performance. What people needs more than that.
One things is that the judges are also not fair with all contestants. Especilly adesh and Lalit had never appreciate the contestant of prithvi as the abhijeet is doing for all. Abhjieet never think that which contestants belong to which group.
When Irfan was eliminated all viewers had seen that he got more vote from all over india except his own state and he is eliminated. In my Opinion it was supposed that not to count the votes of the home state of the contestants to judge the actual papolarity of the contestants.
I want to also share that same as toshi Irfan had get chance in the Bhaats fils “JANNAT”. for your reference “IRFAN Ali’s early ouster from Amul Star Voice of India on Friday evening may be a blessing in disguise for him. Soon after his dismissal, on Saturday morning, Irfan received a call from Vishesh Films (Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt’s production company) asking him to sing for their upcoming Emraan Hashmi-starrer Jannat.
Irfan almost fell off his chair when he heard the offer. He is yet to recover from the shock about his dismissal from the contest, and here the Bhatts are keen on having him for one of the crucial tracks in Jannat. Irfan says, “Many people had called and messaged me saying that they were terribly upset about my disqualification. I had not recovered from that shock when my mentor Lalitji informed me about the film with the Bhatts.”
Finally the emotions should not be included in this kinds of shows if you want to incourge and discover the real talent.

Hey Bilal, really loved what you wrote… Toshi belongs somewhere else, where some crappy judges and horrible voting system does not have to decide the future of a ‘rare talent’ like Toshi’s. Toshi will definitely make it big, and if India still has some sense of music and singing abilities left, then he will SURELY OUTSHINE ALL THE REST.
Those who support Ishmeet or Harshit, you all surely have a very limited knowledge as well as liking for music. You all don’t know what you say. Ishmeet sounds like Shaan and Harshit sounds like Kumar Sanu, Abhaas sounds like Mukesh. Are you all looking for a new and original voice or simply a minor replica? Cos these guys will never reach the top… you will know it in the years to come.

Same goes with Saayian - love song with touches of sufi. (do you say sufi is a limited genre? then why is it so popular the world over? what goes behind its universal appeal?)
Piya Re, Allah Hu, Kacche Dhage - Some of the greatest songs by the great Nusrat Fateh Ali Sahib. (how many have the ability to render it to such perfection and ease with certain variations?)
Chhitthi Ye - Movie song from Heena dating back several years (in which way sufi??)
Yaar ko Maine (sung by Kunal Ganjawala) and Main Jahan Rahoon (by Rahat Fateh Ali and Krishna), Lagi Tumse Manki Lagan, Phirta Rahoon - All are songs from mainstream movies and are beautiful, soft and greatly romantic.
Kaho na Kaho (with Arabic wordings), Dil da Mamla, Soni de Nakhre, Ramta Jogi, Tarap Tarap, Dard-e-disco, Saqi Saqi - All sung by different singers and are extremely popular and successful bollywood numbers.
Din Dhal Jaaye - An incomparable romantic number by Mohammad Rafi making all nostalgic and rendered by Toshi absolutely brilliantly.
SO GUYS, HOW MUCH MORE VERSATILITY DO YOU NEED TO JUDGE A TRUE TALENT? How many others in this contest or any other reality show has shown so much diversity, keeping all engaged at every step?
Amrit, I agree Ishmeet has a new and different voice, but to say that he is more prepared than Harshit or Abhaas is a fool’s statement. Just look at the number of under-par performances Ishmeet has given. They are far more than either Harshit or Abhaas. I’m not a big fan of Harshit myself, but I think Abhaas is really good. Even though he is much younger than the rest, (singing wise) he is more prepared than Harshit and of course Ishmeet. Give me one fast paced high tempo song that Ishmeet has sung well. Even though I don’t like him I do like some of his performance but that is only limited to slow/soft songs. He does not have the energy for high notes. He is learning but it will take him time to adopt to that. He is definitely not adept enough right now to be declared the winner of this show.
And as far as keeping comments to myself, well if you didn’t know, this is a public forum. So I can say whatever I want as long as I’m not offending anyone personally. If you don’t agree with me, feel free to say that (as you’ve done), and I’m gonna retort back as I’ve done. But don’t tell what to say and what not to say. Got it!?

I m a regular visitor of ur site. Yesterday I came to know that this time Toshi is going to be eliminated. I was so shocked that I could not be able to write dowmn anything.
I tried to be very practical and logical. But I didnt get How Toshi who got the highest number of votes last week could be voted out this week? Dont u feel that some kind of conspiracy is behind all this?
I feel that Gajendra Singh and Co want Harshit to become the VOI. They know it very well that Toshi is much better than Harshit. As Lataji is going to be the judge in the Final it would be very difficult for them to make Harshit VOI. So they played this dirty game.

Enogh is enogh! shud we stop making any adverse remarks, particularly about region and religion, against any finalist. Nor the judges shud cross their limits in demotivating any participant.
The best way to is to make a decision by draw of lots between the three or every finalist shud be declared joint winner.

The judhes hailed starvoiceofindia show as the real VOICE OF INDIA when saregamapa show became a farce after the grand finale results and called the other shows of music on other tv channels as the NOISE OF INDIA. But sorry to say star voice of india show has also become only the NOISE OF INDIA after the elimination of main contenders with some credibility in their voice. How can they boast of their show now as the real VOICE OF INDIA. Its a farcically fixed show with money craving attitude and the true NOISE OF INDIA.

Lot of blame is being heaped on the judges. That is unfair. People do not vote on judges’ comments. People vote in their own way. If judges comments sway people then Harshit should have got less votes after Abhijeet’s outbursts. But people voted in their own way. Time will tell who is the best singer.

I agree with others about Toshi and Irfan. They were the best, I thought of seeing them in FINAL. Now I think Aabhas is also good, I dont want to comment about Harshit and Ishmeet, for me they are not capable to become VOI.
I also agree with others, all these results are pre-cooked, they want to save their face, hence they are using public VOTE Stunt. Just to make money they are asking public votes, they will do what-ever they want to.

Hey Friends, I just watched the whole episod of Nov2 and excellent performance by all the singers. Ishmit rocked as well Toshi but we all know he is gone. Hershit did good too. My gutts feeling Abbas will go from this day. We have to listen him tomarrow before I can sayfor sure.

I would like to comment on 3 things. 1st is, it is Complete injustice to most tallented voice b’cos of your incorrect voting format, I mean to say you have to exclude the state where the contestant belongs to. B’cos the people of that particular state will be having partial thinking, so they are recognising or voting for the tallented one, they are voting only to the contestant who belogs to their state so I strongly appose your public voting format. 2ndly among all the 5 judges, Except Abhijit Daa other 4 judges are partial, b’cos they are influenced by the person’s background and supporting the contestants who are copying the voice of our Great Singers like Kishore Kumar and Kumar Saanu, where we don’t want the copy of their voice and encouraging such voices. I really appreciate Abhijit generocity and honesty I would recommend please bring the judges like Abhijit Daa. 3rd is Irfan has a consistant voice right from the begining and who can able to perform all types of songs better way, I felt very bad on Adeshji, Alkaji, Jatin Lalitji’s reaction when Irfan got out from the show instead consoling him they are huging each other and very happy, I would like ask you is that the way to react when some tallented singer got out b’cos of your poor and incorrect voting format. From that day onwards I have lost all the interest of watching your show.

I’m totally speechless to see the blunders of Amul Star VOI in the most crucial stage of the show. I wonder what Lata Ji would have said about TOSHI if she were to be there on NOV the 2nd show. This is ludicurous to see such farce results at such a stage of the show, purported to be the best after having such quality singers but eliminating them one by one is unimaginable. Playing games as suggested by Adesh ji at such level should not be the ultimate goal of the show but it looks like the one. It truely has become the Game Show of music (sorry to say).

What happens Fans, no comment. 50 people can not change the system what I see on this site. If there is public votes, believe me that in millions. They cannot be wrong. I hope just 50 fans got upset because of Toshi. Did you see he got burnt because of his own comments that he does’nt want to go in the GANDGI WHERE FROM HE IS AND HIS OWN NEIBOURHOOD REFUSED HIM TO RECONIZED, and I strongly don’t bame them.This resulted his down Fall. Even all the Judges gave some DILASSA. I am not satisfied with judges because of their inconcistent remarks. Just forget about Toshi now and move on. He is not coming to put food on your table. I was crying last night when i saw result of VOI, it was totally disappointed in my eyes.
Surprise to listen the comments of Judges, I have never listen what i am going to share with you.
In this contest no body could sing songs of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, where no body can copy RAG of Ustad. I am saying with Challange that Give chance to Abbhas, Ishmeet & Harshit to sing the song of Ustad, they will never be able to perform as Toshi (The Great) performed.
This is open challange to rest 3 contentest, can they do that. Sorry for long comments,
But personaly i feel that he voted out because he was Muslim. Realy i feel soo bad.

No,he wasn’t voted out because he is a muslim.He was voted out becuse the decision making power is in the hands of the public(which has no knowledge about music).As you can see,the show has become voice of punjab(etc etc) and NOT voice of india.

I am a big fan of toshi. Toshi is out on 2nd nov. which is a very sad news. I am speechless knowing that. Irfan was also very good singer who is out last week. VOI is totally fixed earlier. This voting system is just stunt that spoil ppl’s money and time. All judges are bakwaas who support BEKAAR singers like ishmit. ishmit can’t get energy in any his song. all songs he sang are totally BAKVAAS. VOI ke sab judge bhi beek chuke hai. khud ki publisity ke liye aaye hai aur apni bachi kuchi izzat bhi gavaa rahey hai. kabhi toshi ya irfaan ko jyada support nahi kiya. harshit aur ishmit ko hi support karte rahe. jo ki sabse bekaar singers hai. Irfaan ne aaj tak sab song bahot hi ache gaye. he was only versatile singer in show.
And toshi sang teri deewani, Piya Re, Allah Hu, Kacche Dhage, Chhitthi Ye, Yaar ko Maine, Main Jahan Rahoon, Lagi Tumse Manki Lagan, Phirta Rahoon, Kaho na Kaho (with Arabic wordings), Dil da Mamla, Soni de Nakhre, Ramta Jogi, Tadap Tadap, Dard-e-disco, Saqi Saqi, Din Dhal Jaaye and ye reshmi zulfe - all sung by different singers and genre and are extremely beautiful, soft romantic, passionate and all kind. no any bollywood singer can have these kind of capablities.
I hoped Toshi is in final 2, second should be irfan or abhas. par ye log abhas ko bhi nikal denge. In logo ko to bas wo sala chashmis ishmit hi pasand hai jo kabhi uchi awaaz mai nahi gaa saka.
VOI is rubbish again after 2nd time toshi elimination. sorry for long comment, par kya karu, gussa itna aaya kahi pe nikalna to padega.
VOI is a joke. You can see and feel that everything is just made up. Arguments, fights between the judges and their comments all made up (same in Nach Baliye). One week Abhijeet says that Ishmeet sucks and the next week he asks votes for him. J It is like a theatre show. How is it possible that a person gets the highest votes in one week and the next week he is eliminated? All made up and stupid. It is funny; they should have at least left Toshi one more week in the show to make it a little believable. It is a joke. Either these directors are fools or they think that people are fool.

Hello everybody,
So finally India made Ishmeet the VOI. It sucks. After elimination of Toshi, Irfan, Sumitra and Pariyani, Star Plus had to close this VOI. What I say that the Producer or Creative Director who gave opinion for 100% opinion by public voting did worst with the contest. Majority of Pakistanies watched this show and all were disappointed as these four guys and even Abhaas were out.
I think people have no sense of music and what I conclude after watching different talent hunt competition, people are still trapped by Race, Caste, Regional and other pathetic boundaries and wasting the real talent.
I think any TV channel should not start any more talent hunting program. What I feel if they want then never show the Background of person whether it is family, or any other personal information, so that people would give fair decision without any biasness or sympathy.
Guys I want you people to tell me that how can I get CD of whole VOI competition including all studio episodes here in Pakistan.
