Next, we have Abhilasha and Sumitra on stage and they sing ‘Doob Jaa Mere Pyaar Mein’ from the movie ‘Johny Gaddar’. Again, not familiar song for me so I did not enjoy it initially. But by the end, I was hooked up and I really enjoyed it.

Next we have Sumitra on stage and she tells that she is not sure if she wants to sing.

I have been noticing that lately she has lost interest from the competition and today she declared it. Obviously, she did not say that she has lost interest, she just made some excuse that she doesn’t want to sing. Anyway, Sanjya requests her to sing mukhda and she sings Bahoon Ke Darmiyaan without any music. It was interesting that none of the judges from Prithvi team and Agni team said anything to Sumitra. I guess she is right to realize that she doesn’t stand much chance when each of the judges have their own favorites and she is not in the list.

Well, Sumitra, I really like your voice and you have given some fantastic performances! It must have been difficult for you to pursue this challenge even though your parents were not supportive and you had to leave your job. I really salute your courage and wish you all the good luck! [And I wish I knew you when you were in Infosys!]

Next we have Sumitra on stage, Shankar gives the start to the song ‘Saiyaan Re’.

Even though she sang it really well, I felt that the there could have been more energy in song. When I looked at her face, I didn’t feel that she was enjoying herself which she generally does. And later on I find that Ehsaan agrees with me. :)

Sumitra sings Dekh Le

After that melodious song, she switched gear and sang ‘Dekh Le’ from the movie ‘Munnabha M.B.B.S’. Hm.. I don’t know what to say. She sang the remixed version of the song and not the slower version. I think it was a good attempt to improvise but she failed miserably. I wish she could have done better, much better.

Points from Prithvi team: 9 out of 10

After Ishmit, Sumitra was on stage and first song she sung was ‘Dil Ki Girah Khol Do’ from the movie ‘Raat Aur Din’. It’s a wonderful song and Sumitra did full justice to it. I really liked it.

Sanjay Dutt tells us that Nargis was 9 months pregnant carrying Sanjubaba when she preformed in this song. Wow.
