Woohoo. For this episode, I am on time, I have uploaded all the videos of 16th November.
I am not going to comment on individual performances because I don’t think it’s worth it.
The whole episode was full of….hm…what words can I use to describe this episode? Hippocrate. Pretentious. Childish.
Generally I am a big fan of Shaan and I think he is a great host but today he was asking question like ‘Who is better singer among Ishmit and Harshit’? in front of Ludhiana crowd. Then they made both Ishmit and Harshit sing the same song and asked ‘Who sang it better?’. I mean, what answer is he expecting? Does he even care for the answer? I could not stand his questions, Jatin and Alka’s useless dialogues and audience’s overwhelming enthusiasm.
Don’t take me wrong, I love Ishmit and his voice, but the kind of craziness people of Ludhiana are showing is beyond my imagination. I mean, do people get so united, so up-beat about someone just because he belongs to their own region? Somehow I am unable to do it.
Actually episode was not that bad. I think Ishmit was rocking today. I wish he sang with this kind of ‘open’ voice and energy during the contest. I think he was fantastic in Mauja Mauja. I felt that Harshit’s performances were average. Check them out and enjoy your weekend.

Who will win Star Voice Of India?

So it’s official now, finale will be between Ishmit and Harshit and it will be aired on 24th November. As Shaan have been constantly saying ‘Shakshat Saraswati Ma’, Lata Mangeshkarji will be the judge. The way it will work is: Lataji’s marks will have 50% weightage and public voting will have 50% weightage.
It’s anyone’s guess who is a better singer between Ishmit and Harshit. But obviously, this contest is not between two singers, it’s basically between Punjab and Uttar Pradesh [No offense meant to anyone.]. So according to me, Ishmit will be the winner.
But wait, I have a feeling that the result is already fixed for this show and somehow, Harshit will win the award.

Videos of 9th and 10th November episode
Hiya All!
First, Happy Diwali to you all! May this new year bring happiness and prosperity in your life!
Now coming back to Star Voice Of India. Actually, less said about the show, the better.
Anyway, to summarize, on Friday - 9th November, we have different performances by Harshit/Ishmit/Abhaas. Nothing to write about. Unless you are crazy about any of the contestant, you can simply skip the episode. As if that was not enough, we have some astrologers coming on stage and talking nonsense. We had Raju Shrivasta presenting a ‘mini’ item in beginning of the show. And on top of all this, the neutral/non-neutral voting zone nonsense. This show is about everything but music.
Talking about Saturday’s, 10th November episode, we learn that Abhaas has been voted out. [We had a huge discussion on my previous post about who is voted out...and my insider information was right! ;)]
Other than Jatin taking ‘Saraswati Ma Ki Kasam’, other judges acted quite civil on Abhaas’ elimination. It’s commendable that Abhaas takes up elimination with a smile on his face. His last performance, Naina Thag Lenge, was simply outstanding. Actually, I am really sad to see him go. According to me, he was more deserving to be in Top 2 than Ishmit. In any case, Abhaas is still very young, he has his whole career in front of him and I am sure that very soon he will be singing for bollywood. All the best, Abhaas.
After Abhaas’ elimination, there were two performances each by Ishmit and Harshit. Ishmit was average in both the performances. Where as I really liked Harshit’s E Ajnabi. I must say that Harshit’s voice is growing on me and in this song, his voice gave it a very good feel. He brought out the pain in the song extremely well, one of the best performances on Star Voice Of India so far in my humble opinion.
Harshit also sang Mitwa and did a very good job though I did not like it as much as ‘E Ajnabi’. It was still a decent performance. There were arguments amongst judges on this performance. And someone needs to tell Aadesh that you can not make your point by shouting on top of your lungs. You need to be civil and put forward meaningful arguments to convey your point of view.
They announced that finale will be on 24th November and voting will start from today onwards till the finale. Well Gaji, you are going to make lot of money but you sure have lost all the respect that I had for you. I can not believe that you are the same person who gave us original Sa Re Ga Ma Pa show, introduced Sonu Nigam to us, gave us singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Kunal Ganjawala etc. These days all you seem to care about is money. There is nothing wrong with making money but honestly, you can make money without getting in to cheap stunts. I wish you realize this and next year we have a true ‘Voice Of India’ show.

Better late than never, I have finally managed to upload the videos of 3rd November episode. Sorry, I could not get these videos uploaded earlier, I am not doing very well and process of updating site is quite a bit of effort.
Anyway, coming to the point, today’s episode was…. well… disappointing.
First, I hated the costumes.
Second, I did not enjoy any of the performances.
Third, I hate that contestants bring judges on the stage.
Fourth, stop the nonsense about Abhaas’s flirting. He is not a flirt (not by a long shot), he is one annoying kid in that matter even though he sings well.
Fifth, Lalit telling us again and again that Ishmit sings easy songs and gets away with it. Dude, what were you doing in the last 20+ episodes? Why bring this point up now?
Sixth, Aadesh. Dude, you need to grow up. Earlier, you said that Ishmit is not good and then today you say that ‘Ishmit, you are superb?’ Learn to stand up for what you believe.
Seventh, Abhijeet. I understand your frustration about Toshi and Irfan being eliminated but you can not make a statement like ‘There is no competition anymore’. And even though you are right, the point is that you are a judge on the show and by making that statement, you are discrediting your own show.
Eighth, Gaji. You need to edit the episode a little better.
