Irfan sings Om Shanti Om

After that civil discussion, Irfan came on stage to perform another one of my favorite, ‘Om Shanti Om’ from the movie ‘Karz’. Average performance.

Kudos to Isha for saying that he should concentrate on ‘voice’ and not ‘performance’. I have been saying that all the time on my site. And I think her analysis that awaaz ‘khuli’ nahin thi was true to the point. Probably song didn’t suit him that well. Abhijeet accepted that it was his idea that Irfan sing this song and it is his fault. I hope Irfan doesn’t get eliminated because of this. And yes, what a surprise when Abhijeet didn’t behave like a ‘junglee’ when Isha said that Irfan should concentrate on ‘voice’ and not ‘performance’. :)

Irfan sings Chhalak Chhalak

After Sumitra, it was Irfan’s turn to perform. He sang ‘Chhalak Chhalak’ from the movie ‘Devdas’. I am not a big fan of this song so no comment on his performance. But why they heck guest judges have obsession to come on stage and stand there like an idiot? Check it out. Irfan mentioned a story where when he was young, he took part in singing competition where Shreya was in girl’s team. Even though he lost then, Shreya was winner from girl’s team. And Irfan found Shreya as humble as she was back then.

After Mirande, it was Irfan’s turn to rock the stage. Literally. He sang the title song of the movie ‘Dil Se’. Awesome performance by Irfan. I think Irfan excels at high notes. I am going to include this song in ‘Best Of’ category. What say?

Irfan sings Dil Na Liya

After Harshit, Irfan performed ‘Dil Na Liya’ from the movie Krish. I didn’t like it that much. Kunal said that his performance was technically weak.

Irfan sings Rind Posh Maal

Irfan was next and he sung ‘Rind Posh Maal’ from ‘Mission Kashmir’. Why he would bring Jimmy Shergil on stage is beyond me. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I really wish everyone would pay attention to their singing instead of trying these gimmicks, they aren’t fooling anyone.

But yes, I completely agree with Irfan, when he told Shaan that he doesn’t like it when Shaan says that he is from South India. My detailed thoughts on this topic will come in another post.
