28th September is Lata Mangeshkar’s birthday and all the contestants go and visit Lata Mangeshkar. Here’s the video:
Sumitra sings Saiyyan Re
Next we have Sumitra on stage, Shankar gives the start to the song ‘Saiyaan Re’.
Even though she sang it really well, I felt that the there could have been more energy in song. When I looked at her face, I didn’t feel that she was enjoying herself which she generally does. And later on I find that Ehsaan agrees with me.

I know that Shankar Ehsaan Troy came solely to promote the movie, ‘Johny Gaddar’. But you don’t have to make it so explicit by leaving the show even before it’s over! C’mon guys!

Abhilasha sings Dhadak Dhadak
Next, we have Abhilasha and she sings ‘Dhadak Dhadak’ from ‘Bunty Aur Babli’.
Hm… I didn’t like it. The way she was pronouncing ‘Dhadak Dhadak’ didn’t sound right to me. Also, I felt that she was having difficulty keeping up with the tempo of the song. Her voice was literally getting stretched. I wonder if she caught throat infection or something. I hope she recovers from this soon.
And it’s not shown in the video below but we find that she is in chakrawat.

Harshit sings Rock N Roll Soniye
Next up we have Harshit and he sings ‘Rock N Roll Soniye’ from the movie ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’. Another very good performance. Harshit’s voice was like a perfect match for this energetic song. I really don’t know why he keeps messing up the lyrics all the time. I mean he is participating in a contest which could potentially make his career, he ought to be preparing some more. Really. None the less, good performance.
